About Dr David Teenan

David Teenan
Dr Teenan is an ophthalmic surgeon who is considered by many fellow eyecare professionals to be Scotland’s premier and most experienced surgeon in vision correction. He specialises in LASIK and LASEK laser eye surgery, refractive lens exchange, cataract surgery and intraocular contact lens surgery.
Dr Teenan is UK Medical Director at Optical Express, and an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons. He is widely considered a world leader in the field of refractive surgery.
Throughout his pioneering career Dr Teenan has helped thousands of people achieve freedom from glasses and contact lenses through his specialist skills in laser vision correction and lens replacement surgery.
Having completed his initial and higher surgical training in Scotland and Wales, Dr Teenan returned to Glasgow to take up a Fellowship at Gartnavel Hospital and worked as a consultant ophthalmologist before joining Optical Express.
His dedication to his profession and patients is evident from his wide range of clinical experience and his ongoing attendance at international ophthalmological seminars and conferences as both speaker and delegate.
Dr Teenan has the Royal College of Ophthalmologists certificate in refractive surgery. His surgical experience, combined with access to our unique technology, has helped him to mentor hundreds of ophthalmologists.
